The Scurcoli Estate lies in centuries-old seclusion on a high knoll in the centre of Le crete senesi. Views extend from the gullies of the crete to the rugged hills of Chianti and the gentle slopes of the Val D'Orcia, dominated by Mount Amiata.
Scurcoli is the tenement mentioned in a document of 1040 as "Sculcoli", located as an observation point (skulk is a Germanic word meaning "guard", "lookout") of the territory and the road that joined the parish churches of the surrounding areas. The emblem of the House is still preserved to this day on the façade of the entrance lodge, reflecting its importance.

Accomodation

The estate consists of two buildings that enclose a large inner courtyard. It was the old farmyard where, until the middle of last Century, the grain was spread after harvest.

Our guests can choose to spend their holidays in one of the three residences: the Torre, the Capanna and the Scurcoli, recently renovated, preserving the original structure of brick, wooden beams and stone walls. All of the bathrooms are furnished in Bisazza mosaic tiles.

Torre

It consists, on the ground floor, of a kitchen-living room with a sofa bed and a bathroom.
A covered porch allows one to dine and spend time outside enjoying the panorama and beautiful sunsets.
On the first floor there is a double bedroom with a small balcony and a bathroom, including a shower.
The house is equipped with air conditioning.

Capanna

It faces the beautiful village of Serre.
On the ground floor there is a large kitchen and living room with a sofa bed, a bedroom and a bathroom equipped with a shower.
On the first floor there is a spacious loft with three beds.
A wide Pompeian lets you enjoy time outdoors.
The house is served by an air conditioning system.

Scurcoli

This is the main house, which is accessed by a wide marble staircase. The entrance is preceded by a characteristic Tuscan loggia that overlooks the estate.
The interior, all on one floor, consists of a large living area, with a characteristic Siena fireplace, flanked by a spacious kitchen.
The sleeping area is composed of four large bedrooms served by two bathrooms with shower.
In front of the building there is a large covered veranda with a fireplace-barbecue, an oven for bread and pizza, a bathroom with shower, and a kitchen equipped to serve the outdoor dining area.

Guests can make use of a spacious laundry room. Each residence of the farm has its own outside space, reserved to individual residences and equipped with tables and chairs, where one can eat outdoors.
Each house has cooking facilities, tablecloths, televisions and bed linen. The bed linen is changed weekly.

The whole area is served by Wi-Fi.

The pool is 14 x 7 m.

There are many possibilities for excursions by bike or on foot

Here’s how to reach the Scurcoli Farmhouse Estate:

By car:

From the North: Milano/Roma motorway, exit at Firenze Impruneta; take the expressway for Siena on the right. When you reach Siena remain on the expressway and continue in the direction of Perugia/Arezzo. Continue on the Siena/Bettolle expressway, exiting at Serre di Rapolano Terme. After the Serre di Rapolano exit, proceed in the direction of Asciano; after a level-crossing and the subsequent crossroads, the first house on the right, at the top of the hill, is the Scurcoli Estate, 4km from the Serre exit.

From the South: Roma/Milano Motorway, exit at Val di Chiana, proceed on the expressway Bertolle/Siene; exit at Serre di Rapolano, then proceed as above.

By train:

The nearest train stations are those of Asciano-Monte Oliveto Maggiore (around 4 Km), Siena (around 34 Km) and Chiusi-Chianciano Terme (around 55 Km). To organize your train journey, you can consult the Trenitalia website.

By plane:

Suggested airports include the Amerigo Vespucci airport in Firenze-Perentola (around 120Km), the Galileo-Galilei in Pisa-San Giusto (around 150 Km), the Roma-Ciampino airport (around 120 Km) and the Leonardo da Vinci airport in Roma-Fiumicino (around 230 Km).
